"Katerina.."
His voice was calm and collected, yet it had the same cold tone as always. A shiver tickled her spine as she didn't even need to turn around to guess who it was speaking her name.
"Klaus?" She spun on the balls of her feet until she was facing him, her chocolate curls slapping against the side of her face as they caught up with her. Katherine had managed to run for years, to stay well away and keep herself safe, but it seemed since she returned to Mystic Falls, running into Klaus was becoming a regular thing. She'd tried to use Tyler, Elena, Caroline, and even Mason as a peace offering, to trade them in exchange for her freedom, but nothing she ever did seemed to go to plan when she was around the Salvatore brothers. "Wh..What do you want?"
It was funny, the only thing she truly feared in life was stood just a mere two or three feet from her, and she couldn't even bring herself to run.
"Ahh my dear Katerina, why do you always assume I want something from you?" He said all too calmly, giving her a glimmer of hope until she saw that evil look in his eyes.
"I'm of no use to you, if you're going to kill me, then just get it over with already."
Klaus shook his head, his sadistic laugh giving Katherine the creeps. "What makes you think you are of no use, my love?"
"Enough of the games!" She snapped.
"But I thought you liked playing games? Hide and seek being your favorite apparently.." He was enjoying this.
"Klaus..." There was a slight warning behind her tone. After years of running she was tired, having lived long enough she was just about ready to give up, yet as always her survival instinct kicked in. "Then what do you want with me?"
The hybrid pursed his lips together, rubbing his stubbly chin with his thumb and index finger. "I want you to help me find the cure."
"The cure for what?" She groaned out of frustration, clearly getting fed up with his stupid games.
"Ahh so you really haven't been in contact with your little pet Salvatores? Either that, or you're just playing dumb. It does not suit you, Katerina."
Katherine held out both hands, her brows pulling together to form a frown. "Will you just tell me what the hell you're talking about!"
"I have Stefan helping me out, but he's taking his time about it and I happen to know that you are willing to do just about anything in exchange for your freedom." He smirked.
Her brows shot up, now this was intriguing. "I'm listening.." She replied, her arms folding over her chest.
"Bring me Jeremy Gilbert, then we'll talk."
Katherine laughed "What use is he in all this?...Infact, I don't even want to know." She turned to leave, surely this would be an easy enough task.
"Oh and Katerina.." Klaus wiped his lower lip with his thumb, his expression not giving anything away as he grabbed her by the forearm, his fingers applying enough pressure to damn near break her bones. "...Try not to get yourself killed."
