My name is Jack, and I am a farmer.

I came to Mineral Town one year ago exactly to take care of my late grandfather's farm, but that's not all I did. I stole the hearts of all five wonderful women on purpose; faking feelings just to have them love me. The young men of the village –those women's potential boyfriends- all hate me. But they didn't used to, oh no. I became good friends with all of them, and learned their secrets along the way.

I befriended the ladies first: Giving them presents everyday, wrapped up in white paper from the Supermarket. I'd give them flowers I picked earlier that day from the mountain, and they thought it was the sweetest thing ever. One by one, they'd confess their love for me. And one by one, I'd break their poor hearts.

To them, I was the perfect guy. I made myself the ideal person for each of them separately, when in all truth, I was nothing like that. I wasn't a bookworm, I wasn't an alcoholic, I wasn't a health nut, I wasn't a drifter, and I wasn't an overconfident tough guy.

But that's who I was to them.

Sure, there were rough times when a festival came around and they'd all ask me to go with them. I never went to those festivals, because I told them I had too much work to do. It was a little saddening to see the fireworks alone from my farm, and to spend the Starry Night festival on my own in my tiny shack of a house.

But I put up with it.

I never meant to hurt them, really. I just wanted to get to know all of them individually before I chose whom I loved. Apparently the only way to do that, though, was to make them love me. And the worst part?

In the end, I didn't even like one of them.

I can tell you the whole story, from when I met each of them to when I crushed their very being, if you like. It's a truly interesting story; full of sadness and guilt, happiness and innocence, love and heartbreak…

Okay, the idea for this fic came to me suddenly when I was playing around with a random title generator online. Please tell me if you'd want me to continue it in the form of a review! It would have six chapters plus this intro, and I already know what is in each of them.
