"So basically I'm asking you to the?" "Length!" the class practically shouted back. "So if were to say ask Layton here what the length of his cucumber is, he would say." "12 inches" Layton answered the teacher with a snicker
Mean while in the back of the class mat rolled his while the rest of the class cracked up. When the teacher began quieting the class back down mat decided to start doodling in his notebook again. Man, why's that guy so popular, Mat thought to him. He was so loud, stupid and not only that but a womanizer, mat had heard that there wasn't a girl in school that Layton hadn't slept with, teachers included.
I wonder if Mat heard me. Layton wondered to himself. Of course he did, mat had to be deaf not to have heard him, and Layton was positive he wasn't deaf. I wonder if he's heard the rumors yet, Layton wondered again for the millionth time. Looking over to his twin Payton, only to get a nod in return, not that it surprised him; Payton was the biggest gossip in school. About the time school started Layton had asked Payton to spread a rumor that all summer Layton had been sleeping around with the girls from school, teachers included.
And it's all for you, Layton thought to himself; Layton had had a humongous crush on mat ever since freshman year, and being in their senior year Layton had just the plan to make mat his. After the bell rang Layton would casually stroll by mat on his way out, casually dropping an envelope on his desk before finally exiting the class. After that at some point mat would open up the envelope, find a beautifully calligraphed note inside asking him to meet Layton behind the football stadium bleachers before school Thursday. Once mat got there he would find Layton waiting there for him, after which Layton would confess his love to him. Yes. It was time.
The school bell rang; causing mat to almost fall out of his seat, struggling to regain his balance he was actually knocked out of his seat this time by Layton running out the door. Glaring at as Layton sprinted out the room; mat noticed that it looked like Layton had accidentally dropped an envelope on his desk. Looking closer mat noticed that it had his name on the front, written in perfect calligraphy at that. What could Layton want with me, mat thought as he shoved the envelope, not o carefully, into his messenger bag and make his way out into the student parking lot so he could hopefully still miss the traffic.
What the hell was that about, mat wondered incredulously to himself as he pulled out of the school drive after about 15 minutes of waiting. Looking to his backpack, wondering what was in the enveloped that Layton had so slyly dropped off on his desk.
Pulling up his gravely drive mat parked about a foot away from his garage door and not being able to take his self-inflicted suspense tore into his back pack and grabbed the envelope from the bottom. "all right let's see what he wants," mat thought with a slight shiver going down his spine, not sure whether it was out of excitement of someone trying to form some sort of communication with him, the confusion of fact that it was Layton of all people, or maybe both.
Tearing off the top ridge of the envelope, slightly sad about not being able to save such a pretty envelope, he grabbed the sheet of paper inside and began to read.
