It was a tragic ending to a sixth year at Hogwarts. The death of professor Dumbledore. All year I knew that something was happening and that something would happen and still I didn't do anything to stop it. I stare at the body of our headmaster laying motionless at the foot of the astronomy tower. A tear slips on my cheek. I can still hear the fights inside the building. Not everyone is aware of what has happened. In the corner of my eye I see a movement that attracts my attention. When I look up I can just see how Harry is following two dark figures. He's heading to Hagrid's cabin.

I take a sprint after them, Ron just following behind me. Then I was able to see who Harry was following: professor Snape and Draco Malfoy. A sting goes through my chest when I see him. I disappear through the trees, leaving a confused Ron trailing down the normal route to Hagrid's cabin. He calls after me but I don't wait on him to follow. Harry is firing curses at Snape and Draco is stumbling on some rocks on his way to safety. When I am close enough and I see that Harry is still keeping Snape busy I call to him.

Draco hears me and stops running immediately, turning around to see me. Just for a little bit he doesn't know where to look but then our eyes meet and shame slides over his face. Tears well up in my eyes. So this was your task. This was the thing that ruined your sixth year in school. Thanks to Him. Thanks to the Dark Lord who didn't have the nerve to do the job himself. He ordered a sixteen year old to do the job for him, to kill someone. I hear a scream and just in time I see how Harry is blown away by some curse Snape has thrown on him.
'Draco, hurry up!' Snape screams at him. Just one more time we look at each other. Knowing he has to go I look at him and nod. But he seems to hesitate. Snape must have seen this too because steps closer to Draco.
'Go! Hurry up.' Sounds his demanding voice. Without any warning there is an enormous bang and I see how Hagrid's cabin is filled with red flames. Hagrid screams and jumps to the first deatheater in his reach. Flames are building up. Draco is standing with his back to me watching the fire spread through the little cabin. Pity and pain go through me. All year I've been trying to be there for him. But I didn't know even half of what he's been through. I sigh and turn my gaze down to the wet grass under my feet. With another sigh I remember the first time I realized that something was wrong with Draco.
