A/N: J. K. Rowling owns Harry Potter. I do not.
7 months. 7 months since the battle of Hogwarts. 7 months since Fred, Lavender, Colin, Dobby, Remus, Tonks, and Snape died. Harry Potter had 7 months to recover. So why was he still so empty? George was recovering from his own brother's death. So why hadn't harry recovered yet?

It was Christmas Eve and Harry was planning on proposing to Ginny Weasley. He told Mr. Weasley and Mr. Weasley asked Harry if Ginny made him happy. Harry responded yes.
After dinner, Harry went outside. The Weasley's and Hermione saw him slump against a tree.
"Ginny? Why don't you go out there? I think Harry just needs someone to open up to. He won't with me and Ron so maybe he might talk to you," Hermione said.
Ginny nodded. Typical Harry. Ever since she first saw him at Platform 9 3/4, Harry had seemed distant. He was always so closed up and flinched...a lot. He had gotten better, but then the war came and pushed him back down.
"Harry?" Ginny called.
"Yeah?" Harry answered, softly.
"Are you alright?"
"Yeah."
"Harry James Potter! What the bloody hell is the matter?"
Harry turned towards Ginny. "I-I need to ask you something," he sounded nervous.
"Ask away," she said.
Harry knelt down on one knee in the snow. "Ginny Weasley. Please make me the happiest man in the world and marry me?"
Ginny stared. Then her eyes widened. "Yes, Harry. I will marry you!"
Harry stood up and wrapped Ginny in a hug. "Merry Christmas, Ginny," he whispered.
"Merry Christmas, Harry."
And with that, the couple walked back to the house, arms around each other. When they got to the house, Harry realized that he didn't feel so empty anymore. Things were beginning to look up.
