Silence is all you need
The Doctor sat under the glass floor of his TARDIS. His tweed was slung over the railing above him and his bowtie was loose.
He had a few tools set in his lap for some rewiring he planned to do. However, he allowed his mind to wander in the quiet of the console room. Amy and Rory had gone to bed a long while ago and the Doctor hadn't the faintest idea as what to—the first time in quite a long time.
So he set himself upon moving some TARDIS rooms around. Sexy was not happy about this, but she knew. She knew the Doctor was upset. So she quietly hummed in the back of his mind and let him ponder.
Rose had been on his mind lately. They'd parted ways some time ago, but he still thought about her. If she was happy with the duplicate of his Tenth regeneration. Did they get married? Was he really the marrying type?
Though, he did marry River. River was different somehow. She was part Time Lord, was that it? Or because she was mysterious?
Rose. A lovely flower. She grew so much while they travelled. Just remembering made his hearts beat a little faster. It made him a little happier. The Doctor knew Rose was safe now.
River. His River. A mystery and something know at the same time. Someone crazy and sane all at the same time.
The Doctor couldn't help but compare Rose and River. Rose had been so strong; she fought through parallel worlds to find him. River, on the other hand, had an entire childhood taken away because of him; and she still loved him.
He cursed himself slightly too loudly.
"Doctor!" Amelia Pond called from the console.
The Doctor pressed his lips together and hopped up the glass stairs. "Pond! Where's Rory?"
"Right here," Rory sighed behind Amy.
"Rory the Roman!" The Doctor smiled and fell against the railing.
"Doctor, what was with the dirty words?" Amy smirked.
"Oh, Pond." He tapped her nose and walked back down to the wiring.
