A/N: Oh, look. I'm back with another story. This one is one I have planned up to chapter five thus far, so it is going to be multiple chapters. I promise to do my best with updating, I do. My motivation and inspiration is a fickle thing at best. Sorry, darlings.
This is currently rated T, however it will change in future chapters.
Please enjoy this prologue, and thanks for reading!

Once upon a time, there was a boy born to a perfectly normal couple in their twenties. Said couple was normal in every possible way, they both had normal jobs, normal friends, normal lives.
However, this all changed the very same day that the little boy was born. You see, the doctor that day wasn't the careful sort. Unbeknownst to the couple, he unknowingly used a needle that had been recently used- This resulted in the boy contracting a very deadly disease before he was even an hour old.
Everything was fine up til the boy's fifth birthday, now. This boy had always been a bit strange compared to the other children. He acted as if everything was a game, even when the other children in preschool screamed and ran away from him because he had 'a monster's eyes'; He simply grinned and laughed it off, not bothered in the slightest.
He played alone often, the other children claiming that there was no room for weirdos in their tightly knitted cliques. And this was fine for him, seeing how he preferred to watch than to interact directly.
Anyway, shortly after the boy's fifth birthday; He started to claim a loss of appetite. Presuming that her 'baby' was merely down with a cold, the mother thought nothing of it. However, it was only when her 'precious' son's skin began to yellow that she seeked professional help; And at this point her son was a mere husk of his former self, having been unable to keep anything of substainance down without vomiting it right back up again.
After many, many tests; The doctor finally pulled the family to the side to inform them of his findings.
It was a shock to hear such a thing, for the parents at least. The little boy simply watched the different expressions play over the adult's faces, his face blank of emotion- Though inside he was grinning at the show he was allowed to attend.
The news was a time limit, though. Something the boy did not enjoy.
'I'm sorry, Ma'am. But your son won't see past the age of thirty, even with treatment.'
And so the boy was given an expiry date; A countdown to zero.
The boy decided then that he would make something of his life, become something that others would rely on in their most desperate times so he'd be able to witness the expressions that would appear on their face when they realized that everything was over for them; That it was all over.
He would become their God.
