Ok. Well, that's my first story here and it's about my favourite character ever. Elijah Mikaelson. He's totally amazing, but I think everybody knows it :D I don't know english perfect so there could be mistakes. Let me know if you see any ;)
And of course enjoy.
- I never wanted this to happen.
He was standing next to the campfire. Elena shook her head, her eyes narrowed. She almost cried. They were in the middle of nowhere and one of the most powerful vampires on the Earth was about to kill her lover. Elijah tightened his clutch on Stefan's neck, who groaned in pain.
- Just like you never wanted to help my mother kill me and my entire family, Elena – he whispered, smiling at her wryly. It was true. He didn't want to hurt Salvatore. Actually, he didn't care about him now, it was all about her. He knew that he shouldn't hurt any of them, but it was necessary. Elijah turned his face to vampire. – The last chance, Elena. You're going to tell me, where my mother is or – he clenched his grasp and Stefan groaned – your lover will die.
Elena tossed her head again, trying to tell something, but she didn't know what. What should she say to an Original vampire to leave her beloved Stefan alone? They weren't together know, but it didn't change feelings she had for him. She'd do everything to ensure him safe. And Elijah was sensible of that. The only thing Elena couldn't take is that he used it. He wasn't that sort of person. He was noble. He was honorable. He liked her. At least she thought like that since she got his letter. Apparently, she was wrong. Not the first time.
- Don't hurt him, Elijah – her voice was quiet and full of worried. An Original vampire looked at her and hesitated. No, Elijah. Never trust her again. He pushed away these ridiculous thoughts about trusting her. He won't do the same mistake again. – I beg you. I love him – she whispered almost inaudibly.
Elijah raised an eyebrow at her.
- Do you? – he asked solemnly. – Then tell me what I want to know – he hissed. His face was terrifying. Elena never saw him like that. It was true what they said. Elijah value the most his family and he could do everything for his brothers or sister.
Now Elena hesitated looking at him. She bit her bottom lip and shivered. It wasn't really cold but this whole situation made her scared.
- If I'd tell you – she started unsurely – will you promise me you won't hurt him? Never?
Elijah narrowed his eyes and winced. Even now she was willing to negotiate. How could she be so incredibly brave and stupid? If there was Klaus at his place, Stefan would be dead long time ago. But no, Elijah wasn't like that. Even when he was threatening him now, he considered her offer. He was inclined to agree.
- Yes – he said slowly. – You have my word that if you break where my mother is, I won't hurt him. – Elena breathed a sigh of relief. She knew that if Elijah gave her his word, Stefan was safe. Now she had to keep her part of a deal.
- Your mother… - she started, but didn't finish.
- Your mother is dead, sweetheart.
Elijah abruptly looked up to the woman who was standing on the frontier of the wood. It was impossible. She was dead. There was no other option. He saw her dead body with his own eyes. His hand on Stefan's neck loosened and vampires hit the ground. Elena, Stefan and Elijah were staring at the newcomer. Brown, curly hair. Chocolate eyes. Porcelain skin. And that voice. That voice Elijah'd recognize everywhere.
- Katherine? – asked Stefan, frowning.
Elijah shook his head and stepped forward. His voice was quite and toneless.
- Tatia.
