He remembered playing little league. More or less. It was buried with all the other childhood memories he wanted to not remember anymore. But as his fellow agents lifted him, Spencer Reid was sure he never had hit a home run before in his life. Score one for the nerd. If his former class mates were here it would be like a punch in the face. Little baby Reid hit a home run. A winning home run.
A few years ago, he'd have never believed it possible, not only hitting the ball but even agreeing to the game. In all actuality, he didn't feel like he'd paid back Morgan at all. No, now he felt that he owed his friend even more. Morgan had always believed in him and all he did was try to push him away. He hadn't even wanted to tell the man about her.
Oh. She'd want to hear about it, too. Hopefully they'd have a good amount of time, he had so much to say…
He was being dropped now. A quick hand snatched his hat away, mussing up the curly brown hair. Morgan grinned at him as the rest of the agents dispersed. "So kid, you up to being reserve for the rest of the season?"
Reid smiled. "Only if you really need me. The chances of that happening again are about-"
"Alright, Pretty Boy, I get it. Last resort only. Now let's go get some grub." Morgan snapped the cap back on to the younger man's head, going over to intercept the beaming Penelope Garcia.
Looking over the field one last time, Dr. Spencer Reid smiled before turning to join his team. Overall, he thought, a good day for a ball game…
