The Close Call

I just got this idea when I was staring at Ads… :P. Yes, I am totally in a writing mood today. This is my third story today! This is based off stuff that I really wanted from Justice but they were too expensive… $5.00 for like 4 long twisted erasers. :O

Cat's POV

I just bought another year's subscription to SkyStore's catalog! Yay!

I flip through the pages.

Oooh, page 37, a mini locker!

Mmm, banana scented erasers, page 15, yum!

Oooh! I want that crackle nail polish! Page 41!

But I want that frilly skirt so bad on page 23… and how about the heels on page 56?

OMG! There's an Angry Birds plushie on page 100!

This is such an awesome 100 page catalog! I can't choose what to get!

Oooh! I know! I'll get all of them!

I typed in my mom's credit card number into my laptop and it beeped, meaning that SkyStore had received my order.

Suddenly, my mother came through the door. I quickly shut my laptop and hopped over to her.

She asked, "Can you go feed your brother some of his medicine?"

I sighed. "Why me? He bit my foot last night."

My mom put her hands on her hips. "Because I said so!"

I shrugged. "Fine!" I grabbed the bottle out of the medicine cabinet, and headed up to my brother's room.

"Oh, and honey, I'm going to see how much is left in my credit card account! I'll be in my office!"

I gulped. Oh no! She'll see her balance and go bananas!

In my brother's room, he was playing his King Kong video game.

"CAT! COME DOWN HERE THIS INSTANT!" shrieked my mother.

I gulped again. "No!"

"Don't make me come up there!"

"I'm not coming down!"

I heard footsteps storming up the stairs.

I walk out the window and climb onto the roof.

My mother follows.

I take a ladder down and tip it, causing my mom to be stuck up there.

I run away as fast as I can, remembering that I sent the stuff to my friend Tori's house.

I rushed inside.

"Tori! Tori Tori Tori!" I yell.

"What, Cat?" she asks.

"I ordered the whole SkyStore catalog and my mom is chasing me! I think she got down from the roof!"

Tori was puzzled. "What?"

I sighed. "No time to explain. Hide me!"

Tori brought me up to her room and hid me under her bed and draped her covers over the sides of the bed, hiding me.

The doorbell rang; I think it was my mom.

I hear my mom's voice as she asks Tori if she's seen me.

Tori replies that, no, she hasn't seen me, but that I called her to say that I was at Jade's house…

Wow. That was a big lie.

But still, my mother believed it, then I explained everything to Tori.

I have to say, though, that that was one close call.
