"Corrin, Corrin! C'mon, get up! We have a surprise for you!" Elise yelped happily, shaking her sleeping brother. He groaned a little.
"C'mon! You sleep too much, already!" Elise insisted, a pout beginning to form. "Okay, I'll go get Leo to wake you up… He won't be as friendly!"
"…okay Elise, I'm up."
He already had Flora and Felicia using their ice magic to wake him up constantly; he didn't need Leo to do it too. He probably wouldn't be as nice as them either. He didn't need that.
"Yay! Let's go, Big Brother!"
Corrin pulled himself out of bed. That's when he realized something.
"Why are you waking me up? Where are the others?"
"Didn't you hear? It's a surprise!"
"Umm, okay?"
"C'mon, c'mon! I promise you'll enjoy it!"
Elise started to drag her brother by the hand. Corrin wondered what it was that had her so excited. Had Father actually allowed him out of the castle…? No, can't be. Though, it must still be something pretty great for her to be so excited.
Waiting for them outside the door was his younger brother Leo. Seems that threat was not empty after all.
"Good, you're awake." Leo said. Then with a smile he added, "I was just about to intervene too."
"No, please no."
"Relax, Brother! I was mostly kidding."
Yeah, that's comforting. But, even Leo seemed to be in high spirits. He was smiling instead of smirking, he wasn't really one to smile that genuinely too much.
"What are we waiting for!? Let's go!" Elise piped up excitedly.
"Of course. " Leo said, leading the way.
"Are Camilla and Xander coming with us too?" Corrin asked.
"No, sadly they had other matters to attend to." Leo explained.
"Oh."
"It's okay! It'd still be wonderful!"
"I'm sure it will." Corrin smiled at his little sister.
"We're almost there." Leo announced.
Elise covered Corrin's eyes.
"It's gotta be a surprise!" She explained.
"Okay, Elise."
Corrin heard the sound of a door opening and he was lead outside.
"Okay, you can open your eyes now!" Elise announced, excitedly. She removed her hands. The sight that was before him took his breath away. It was a beautiful courtyard, dotted with plentiful flowers and trees. It easily stood out from the dark landscape of the castle and the sky. This whole thing made Corrin feel as if he was outside of the castle for the first time in his life. He had to resist the urge to go roll around in the grass, he wasn't a child after all.
"This is…"
"Well, what do you think?! It's wonderful, isn't it!? Now you can be outside and Father won't be angry!"
"This is amazing, how did you guys do this…?"
"We all knew how you wanted to leave the castle. So we put our heads together and figured this would be the best alternative. Father thought it might make you a little more motivated to stay in the castle, so he approved it." Leo explained.
"Thank you guys so much, I love it." Corrin smiled. "You guys are the best."
"Hee hee, what are sisters for?" Elise smiled.
"And brothers." Leo added, smiling.
"C'mon Brother, let's go! You've never seen grass in real life before right?"
Corrin was rather curious about how grass felt on your skin, the lush feeling of green life. He took off his glove and felt the grass.
"It feels so nice." Corrin commented.
"Exactly. C'mon, I'll give you the tutorial, Big Brother!" Elise smiled, pulling Corrin over to the various parts of the courtyard.
