Ok, here's the thing, I have this fic going: 10 Facts I can Never Ever Change, Never, but I couldn't get this one-shot out of my head.

Anyway, this is my first set of drabbles, I love drabbles, so I hope you enjoy!

Disclaimer: I don't own Naruto.

There were words in her tears. She wept, and all of her good friends hugged her, words of

comfort occasionally reaching her ears.

Nobody really understood. They didn't get why she cried her eyes out the day after her 17th birthday.

They didn't understand that she got every thing from little packets of ramen to the huge medical books she enjoyed reading so much.

Nobody comprehended that she never wished for any of those things. All she wanted was Sasuke back.

X

Nobody knew how many dandelions danced in the wind each day; she made a wish on them all. She watched with her eyes closed hoping, wishing, this time her longing would come true.

X

Nobody realized how many times she'd passed the bench he'd so 'kindly' laid her on and shuddered. The events of that night were too painful to remember, and too confusing. She walks away; maybe tomorrow she'll have a different reaction.

X

Naruto summoned many frogs in the years Sasuke had been gone, big ones small ones, bosses and squirts.

Each one was blown a kiss; she hoped perhaps one might be her knight in disguise.

Every frog caught the kiss happily, but none were Sasuke.

X

More than daily she was sure she saw Sasuke perched on a tree branch, waiting to protect her and possibly even Naruto. And each time she felt tears well up when she found it was only her imagination…playing tricks on her again.

X

Nobody saw the look of hatred, depression, and maybe even fear that she held every time Kakashi pulled up his forehead protector to reveal his mighty Sharringan.

X

Once Kiba caught a harmless garden snake. He proudly brought it to the attention of all of Konoha. The next day, he was devastated to find it dead.

Nobody knew she was the one who struck the kunai through the damn thing. It wasn't her fault; it reminded her to much of that snake bastard.

X

And every time she saw an eyelash on her face, she made sure all and sundry was out of sight before she made a wish on it.

It was foolish yes, but it was all she had.

X

Konoha had a sky full of beautiful stars, each one more amazing than the next. And it was always hard for her to look upon them; it wasn't her fault each somehow managed to make the pattern of Sasuke's face.

X

Many times she had to blink rapidly to see if it really was Sai. Why did the guy have to have the same face, hair and eyes?

X

So now, she slowly circles the academy, where it all started. And she half wishes she never met him, then maybe she would not feel this pain. She sees the little ninja of tomorrow playing together.

She watches silently as a butterfly flutters past her gracefully.

She stares at the flock of birds decorating the afternoon sky.

She wonders how the world can still work right when everything seems so wrong.

Stopping by a sakura tree, she sits in its shade and closes one eye, the other spies a clover-a four leaf clover.

Sakura quickly plucks it off the ground and stuffs it behind her forehead protector. When she gets home, she'll put it with the others.

That's number 73 she thought. Perhaps now I'll have enough luck to bring Sasuke back.

Maybe it's enough luck for him to come back on his own.

She ponders this.

But still, picking a few more couldn't hurt…

So…what did you think? Tell me I can take it! Review review review! Btw, how many of you think Sasuke will come back alive? I do…

Love, the waiting, wondering, and finished,

SAIM
