A Zutara Fanfic

Chapter 1

The story begins just after Zuko was crowned Fire Lord and they had all traveled to Ba Sing Se. Everyone is packing up their things. Katara and Sokka are headed for the South Pole, Aang will be going with Toph back to her home and Iroh, Zuko and Mai are headed back to the fire nation.

Here is where our story takes off.

ZUKO'S

Zuko had been home just last week and he already missed it so much that he had the fastest fire navy ship come to take him, his girlfriend and his uncle home. It was odd that it was home not just a place where he was sent away from but where his life was. It was his. With Azula locked up at the boiling rock forever to be sentenced to the cooler, things were calmer there. More relaxing.

He was now the new Fire Lord and he felt better than ever. Everything was okay. So many hungry, dying people were healing and better. The world was well again. He was well again.

Mai had forgiven him for leaving her after the day of black sun. She knew he had to do this but deep down she just wanted him to take her with him. Or at least say it to her face that he was leaving and explain why. Seeing as he did neither, Mai was angry but soon got over it when she realized that he had no time and he had to get to the war ship immediately if he was going to make it in time.

Uncle was with him again. Making him joyful and showing him what he had been missing the past few months. Zuko felt happy for the first time in his life since the last few months he guessed. That had been the best time of his life not counting the part where Azula struck him with lightning while battling in an Agni Kai. He remembered the day where he and Mai ran away for the day when they were twelve. As he thought back to this he laughed, leading to Uncle and Mai staring at him with a puzzled look on their faces.

"What are you laughing at Nephew?" Uncle questioned.

"Just an old memory" Zuko slowly replied looking for the right words "A good memory"

Mai suddenly knew what he was talking about she giggled. Then said "Iroh, may I steal Zuko for a minute?"

"Sure Mai." Iroh responded quickly.

Zuko bowed towards his uncle quickly then raced to his chamber with Mai.

Trust me it isn't over yet I just enjoy using the El Fin and if you don't speak Spanish it means The End in well Spanish I will continue to write this if I get reviews. Just so you know my name is avatarzutarafan345 for a reason, I write Zutara! Maiko is exceptional but I am using the Maiko in this series for a reason. I think. So yeah let me know if you have any song suggestions for a songfic.
