INDEPENDENCE DAY
DISCLAIMER
Got the idea while watching Martina McBride's "Independence Day" video. Correlates with "Secret Keeper" and "Appearances". Belongs to Eric Kripke.
Independence Day. Most people who heard those words, they thought of July 4th. They thought of America, being festive, and having a good time. But for Sam, they had a deeper meaning. For Sam, Independence Day had come when he finally come clean about Uncle Lyle's abuse. First to Dean, and then to their father. Oh, how he had hated being left behind with the man. The beatings, the feel of his hands…the younger Winchester still shuddered when he thought about it. However, he didn't dwell on it often. Dean wouldn't let him. For that, Sam was grateful. His older brother made sure that all he thought of were better times. Hunting things, saving lives…the family business. And that was a much happier thought then his own private torment he had suffered at that monster's hands. Independence Day. A time of laughter and celebration for most. But for Sam Winchester, it was the day he had broken free of his uncle's abuse. It was the day he had broken the silence. It was the day he had become…independent.
