It all started about ten years ago when I was the new kid at school with no friends whatsoever.

One day, I met another 'outcast' and we became friends. Since we didn't have anything particularly interesting to talk about, we started a little improvised play.

Each of us created a character and stated the basic characteristics, but only the basic ones, so that they could develop over time. Besides, we had no idea of how far we wanted this to go. A location was added into the game and then we played our characters in random situations.

We grew older and started to discuss teenager things in our free time instead of playing. But I never stopped imagining my character's development.

I've never really been that interested in the English language until this day in 2012. We read the short story 'The Tell-Tale Heart' by Edgar Allan Poe. It starts with the words: "Nervous – very dreadfully nervous" and while reading it, I thought that this would make a nice beginning for a completely different story.

I had started watching Star Trek a couple of months earlier, even in English because I liked the voices of the actual actors better than the ones from the dubbing. I also had begun reading stories on an American website for fan fiction.

Back at home, I began to write the first chapter and then the second of my story idea. I published them and asked my readers to give me their opinions. I was told that my story was promising and that they were looking forward to reading more, so I wrote more and more chapters.

Now it has 42 chapters, and it is not the only English story I have published there. 'Magic' has 58,064 words, 57 reviews and about 10,800 views.

I believe you could say that writing stories helped to improve my English, which in the end brought me to this school.
