Mikan was humming a tune under the cherry blossom tree enjoying the fresh scent of nature; her long brunette hair trailing down her waist followed the rhythm of the wind causing it to move back and forth.

Natsume was beside her, reading a manga.

It`s been awhile since they got closer to each other, seeking each other`s comfort. Mikan started playing with her fingers seemingly confused.

Natsume looked at her in the corner of her eyes. He sighed. Knowing Mikan, she always had questions on her mind and all of them were just stupid thoughts driven to make you crazy explaining those things to her.

Mikan is as innocent as a child, he knew that but he can`t help but feel amused sometimes. She was so easy to tease and she easily believes things people said to her.

One question that had been running on his mind is that, how can such an idiotic girl like her made way into his heart? Students in Gakuen Alice had also been wondering why the famous Natsume Hyuuga who has it all especially the brains would spend his time with an idiotic girl.

"Natsume" Mikan called out to him snapping him off from his thoughts.

"Hn"He replied, turning his head towards the brunette.

"I have a question" She muttered, still playing with her fingers.

Idiot. She always had questions.

"Hn"

"Why do we have spaces between our fingers?" She looked at him in confusion.

He blinked. As much as he wanted to answer the question with precision he can`t help but remain silent. As Silence engulfed the two, the brunette broke it down with a smile. He looked at her in confusion. He was about to answer when she cut him off—

"You can`t answer the question, Can you?" Mikan teased him then chuckled.

"Tch" He muttered under his breath.

"Hey Natsume, you know I can answer the question"

Idiot, this is the word that had been playing on Natsume`s mind and now it`s still is.

"Then why did you ask the question when you know the answer all along? Stupid" He replied.

Mikan just flashed him a smile then giggled.

Natsume looked at her, questionably.

Honestly what is wrong with this girl? She gets into people`s mind and drives them crazy.

Mikan inched closer to Natsume breaking the distance between them. She removed his manga off his hand. He was about to complain and grabbed the manga back when Mikan placed her hand on Natsume slowly intertwining her fingers on his.

Mikan looked at his shocked expression, then giggled and grinned when she saw the faint blush evident on his cheeks.

She whispered something to Natsume leaving Natsume dumbfounded but while later after Mikan left he found himself, smiling. It wasn`t an idiotic question after all well she did knew the answer, the answer that the genius Natsume Hyuuga wouldn`t have answer in the first place.

So you`re probably wondering what did Mikan said to Natsume leaving him flabbergasted.

Simply she told him—

"The spaces between our fingers were created so that other`s hand could fill them"
