Tattoo
Draco Malfoy was bored. It was summer and everyone was at one of Voldemort's raids. Everyone who was anyone was off terrorizing the Muggle world; going on killing sprees, wrecking cars, destroying homes, cow tipping...
One might wonder why Malfoy wasn't present at said raid. The plain truth was: Draco did not have the Death Eater Mark! And one did not go on a raid without being identified as one of the Dark Lord's followers. Draco shuddered at the thought of being on the receiving end of Bellatrix's Morte Bovine. No…he definitely did not want to be mistaken for Ministry.
In order to understand exactly why Draco didn't have the Mark, one must also understand that Voldemort once resided at a Muggle orphanage. Try as he might, he could not escape the influence of those years spent as Tom Riddle in the purely Muggle world. Therefore, Voldemort still did Muggly things and sang Muggly songs.
So when Voldemort developed his Death Eater Mark Spell, he simply designed it after Muggle tattoos. No, the Mark was not cursed. No, it did not stain the blood or appear on every Death Eater's descendents for the next century and five days. The tattoo was simply that: a tattoo. Needless to say, Voldemort wasn't very creative.
So why didn't Draco have the Mark? Quite simply, Draco Lucius Alabaster Daniel Mark Felton Radcliff Tom Muggle Malfoy was allergic to tattoo ink.
Which was why he was bored, and at the current moment drawing a rather lovely depiction of the Death Eater Mark on his arm with a Pink Crayola felt marker.
