Ryoma was walking out of his house and down the streets, smiling to himself.

"Here" Ryoma looked at the letter in Nanako's hand "Thanks" He muttered and took the letter, Nanako smiled and patted his head "I can't believe you'll be turning 13 tomorrow" She said with a bit of disappointment in her voice 'time goes fast' She thought with a smile. Ryoma looked at the letter in his hand 'what's this?' "Gochisosama deshita" (thank you for food) he mumbled, "Oi sheishonen what's with that letter?" Ryoma turned around to face a VERY ANNOYING old hag "What is it Oyaji?" Ryoma spat, "Man you sure aren't cute, how will you ever bring a girl home with that attitude, you should be gentle and cute, THAT gives girls the goose bumbs" Nanjiro laughed, "O-OI BRAT WHERE THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU'RE GOING" Nanjiro cried at the sight of his boy running up at the stairs to the safe zone called his room. SCRATCH Ryoma took out a white piece of paper from the convolute.

The snow underneath his shoes was soft. It was a bit cloudy and it was snowing. His mother had given him permission to go, even though it was Christmas Eve AND his birthday.
When he came to Kawamura's sushi shop he put his hand on the door, he could hear people shushing and telling each other to be quiet 'what the hell' Ryoma opened the door and- "HAPPY BIRTHDAY Echizen, brat, O'chibi, Koshimae" Confetti and all kinds of stuff was thrown out on him, and inside the shop was almost all the middle scholar's, Seigaku,Hyotei,Rikkaidai,Yamabuki,Fudomine,Shitenoji. He could feel a smile creep up to his face as he looked at everyone. "Is something wrong" Ryoma was looking at the floor bangs covering his eyes and shaking "Come on brat you don't need to cry" Atobe said as he threw his hand in the air to show how perfect he was (he is can't help it) "HAHAHAHAHAHA" Laughter filled the shop with a certain boy in the room, everyone looked confused at him, Ryoma lifted his head and smiled a rare smile they only had seen once, at the national's. "Thanks" He smiled. Suddenly he could feel something hot and wet trail down his cheeks. 'HU?' Everyone froze, "Echizen" Oishi whispered, Ryoma lifted his head again and looked at everyone "Arigatou Minna" And the tears kept on falling "Omedetou" They cheered.
