Chapter 1

Previously on The New Desperate Housewives:

"I was struck down and killed. My daughter found my box. Martina went to great links to get her kid into private school. Julia's ex moved across the street. Amy went back to work. Robin began dating a detective, who may know something about my secret."

San Francisco

"Drea Smith sat at her apartment window looking out at the San Francisco skyline."

Drea got up and walked around her apartment.

"She began to realize just how little her apartment was."

Later, Drea walked down a sidewalk and tripped.

"How hilly the roads were."

As she walked through the grocery store, a man shoved her aside.

"And how cramped and crowded the stores were. Drea wanted bigger things and San Francisco didn't have it. So she packed her bags and moved to the suburbs."

Fairview

Lee McDermott showed Drea the available properties on Wisteria Lane. As they stood in front of 4352 Wisteria Lane, Drea smiled.

"It's perfect," Drea said.

"Just to let you know," Lee said. "I am legally required to tell you that the woman who originally owned this house killed herself."

"She did?" Drea asked.

"It was nearly two decades ago," Lee said. "Then the people who lived there after mysteriously disappeared. I think they may have been eco-terrorists on the run from the FBI."

"I don't think I want this house," Drea said.

"Okay," Lee said. "The house next door is also on the market."

"Did anything scary happen in that house?" Drea asked.

"Well," Lee said. "The husband of the woman who killed herself kind of murdered the owner, Martha Huber. He hit her with a blender and choked her."

"Any other properties?" Drea asked.

Lee took Drea to 4345 Wisteria Lane.

"Wow!" Drea exclaimed. "It's huge!"

"Yes," Lee said. "But this house is known as the unsellable. It's been abandoned for over 20 years."

"Now it's not," Drea said. "I want it."

"Are you sure?" Lee asked.

"Did anyone get killed in this house?" Drea asked.

"No," Lee replied.

"I'll take it," Drea said.

"Drea Smith?" a voice asked.

Drea turned around to see Robin.

"Robin!" Drea cheered.

Drea and Robin rushed to each other and shared a big hug.
