A/N: This one was a tricky one to write. Written for the Mega Prompts Challenge, writing prompts #002 – write a drabble under 100 words. This one's 97, cutting it down from 110. The one I'd originally tried got stuck at 100 and wouldn't budge. :D

Too Late to Speak

Sometimes, you have a limited amount of words – or none – but the worst is when you have an infinite amount but don't think to use them before time runs out.

Then you spend the rest of your life saying the things that should have been said, knowing the person you should have said them to won't hear – because you didn't say it when they were there, and listening. Because you were angry then, and mute.

You say your apology now, but it's too late for him to hear. He's dead, and you're just speaking to a grave.
