I've Chosen

Hermione is left heartbroken and crying after Ron leaves Harry and her in the midst of their important hunt for the horcuxes. Harry is the only one she can talk to, so she spills everything out to him. What happens when she reveals her feelings towards Harry?

"H-Harry, h-he's gone," Hermione whispered, walking back into the tent, drenched with rain and shivering. Ron had just left Harry and her and she was accused of loving Harry more than she did Ron. He rushed over to her and dried her off with a spell, before leading her to his bed to sit down. Hermione muttered a "thank you" and sat on the camp bed, staring at Harry, biting her lip.

Harry didn't know what to do, he didn't know why Hermione was staring at him with such a curious look on her face and he didn't know why Ron lashed out on him so suddenly. He needed to clear his head.

"Hermione, I'm going outside for a bit. What's the spell for repelling water?" Harry asked Hermione.

"The spell is impervious," Hermione muttered; Harry had to strain his ears just to hear her.

"Um, ok thanks," Harry answered. He got up from the bed and was walking towards the tent door when Hermione shouted for him to stop.

"What's wrong?" Harry asked, wondering if he might find out why Hermione was staring at him so much.

Hermione took a moment to calm her so she wouldn't stutter and said,

"Harry, when you go outside I want you to think about what I am about to tell you and tell me your answer when you come back in. Harry, remember when…when R-Ron accused me of choosing you? Well, I did. I did choose you. But have you chosen me?"

Hermione stood where she was, in front of Harry. Harry looked like he was in shock. He nodded slowly and walked outside, casting an impervious on him.

Harry sighed, he felt a pang of pity for her; he knew how she felt, he watched Ginny with Dean and it tore him apart. But that wasn't the only time he felt heartbroken, strangely enough. The second time was in Grimmauld Place, when he realised that Ron and Hermione fell asleep holding hands. At the time, he thought it was because he wanted Ginny, but he realised it wasn't true. It was because he wanted Hermione. Hermione, the girl who was always eager to help her friends, who was always loyal and did what she felt was right.

Harry looked at the rain bouncing off his feet. Hermione was like rain, pure, refreshing and beautiful. Hermione is beautiful, Harry thought to himself, smiling. As soon as Harry realised he called Hermione beautiful, he realised he loved her, and not in the best- friend way; real, true love.

Harry walked back into the tent to find Hermione standing exactly where he left her. He walked up to her, hugged her and kissed her. It was a tender, love-filled, truth-spilling kiss. It wasn't awkward and full of uncertainty like most first kisses are, because this one was different. This kiss was shared by two people who truly loved each other.

After what felt like an eternity, Hermione broke the kiss and whispered to Harry,

"Screw the world, screw Ron, hell, even screw Voldemort, because all I want is you. I love you,"

Hermione stepped back slightly and looked at Harry in the eye and said straight back to her,

"I love you too,"

Review please, this is my first one-shot so I want to know if you like it, or does it feel unfinished. Also, should I leave it as a one-shot or should I continue it?

Until next time folks…
