Creature in the Night

Author- OroKabuLover

Dislcaimer- I do not own Orochimaru nor Kabuto!

I was lying in my bed when you came for me, like the grim reaper, you were wearing all black, The moonlight reflects off of your ghostly white skin, making it glow slightly in the dark room. I close my eyes and pretend to be asleep, trying to fool you. But... you cannot cheat death. I feel it coming. I hold my breath, and sneeze. You were already at the door, I had fooled you, but now... you know, I am not as I claim to be, I am awake. You laugh, no... chuckle at my actions and come back over to me. You stand at the foot of my bed, I try to stay still, acting as if I slept through my sneeze, hoping you wouldn't see through me, then, you spoke.

"You can't fool me twice Kabuto." Your words are like ice, cold and sharp. I open my eyes, but I don't move, my breathing is increasing slightly. You snicker as you sense my fear, you always loved scaring me. "I know you are awake Kabuto." Your words pound against my eardrums, I struggle not to shudder when I hear them. The moonlight makes your eyes glow and become reflective, like a cats. I cannot see you, but I know you are there, and you aren't alone.

I nearly gasp as I felt something slither onto my bed. You knew I was still afraid of them, it was something I couldn't change. I continue to lie still, as if playing dead, hoping you would lose interest in your prey, and leave, but you don't. I feel the snake slither up the bed slowly, it coiled up on my chest. It was heavy, but bearable. I closed my eyes, but curiousity forced me to open one. Bright yellow eyes met mine, thankfully they weren't yours. No, you stood at the foot of my bed still, watching. I could sense your sinister smile. The snake hissed at me, allowing me to see its long, slender fangs.

I didn't dare move, afraid of not only you, but the snake as well. It looked at me, it rose and fell with my chest as I breathed. The snake jerked its head back to you, hearing a silent call. It flicked its tongue out a few times before slithering back down my legs to you. The snake hissed a few more times before digging its fangs into my ankle. I jerked up into a sitting position, crossing my legs to examine my ankle. "Good." You hissed. "You're awake." You chuckled as I frowned, knowing you had won this game. The snake slithered back into the darkness, then you left the room. Why? What was the point of it? I already knew the answer, you love to scare me.
