Prompt: Normalcy
Marcus was a vampire. Seth was a shifter. Both had come to accept those aspects of their lives. But when the Volturi fell and they had left Italy together Marcus had noticed how normal couples acted, the things normal people had. He knew Seth was perfectly happy with how things were but that didn't stop him from trying to give Seth a more normal life.
A house… romantic dinners now and then… never forgetting to say "I love you". It was months before Seth noticed how hard Marcus was trying. Seth was confused but he didn't question it right off, he watched and took account of all the things Marcus was doing.
Finally he couldn't stand it anymore. Seth leaned against the counter as Marcus cooked. "Marcus…why have you been doing all these things?" He questioned.
"What things?"
"Well you bought us a house with a white picket fence outside… we have romantic dinners either here at home or out about every other week when I would be satisfied with a TV dinner, and you never seem to forget to say 'I love you'. There's more of course but I'm just curious as to why," Seth explained.
Marcus blinked and turned to look at Seth. The pure confusion on Seth's face made him wonder if he was doing something wrong… he had been so out of it… for so long… "I just want things to be normal for us."
Now it was Seth's turn to blink then a smile grew on his lips. "Normal is overrated Marcus. It's the not so normal that makes life exciting."
