Author's note: My first not poem-ish story, yey! And hopefully not the last.

Without further ado, I present: Distant Love
Dear Naruto,
Though I haven't contacted you in a long time; no, since the day we parted, it doesn't mean that I forgot you. You constantly plague my thoughts and the memory of you smiling is what keeps me going every day. I'm afraid that if I called you, I would lose my resolve and fall to pieces should you not answer or answer with venom in your words. My worst fear was that you would tell me that you didn't anything to do with me, and you found someone else, someone who will treat you better, and love you the way you deserved to be loved. Even if you haven't forgiven me for leaving you, know this: Leaving you was the hardest thing I've ever done. Seeing your crying face, tears streaming as you beg me not to go. But I walked on, ignoring your tears and pleas. I never looked back, knowing that if I did, I wouldn't be able to leave, not with you looking the way you did. A beautiful crying mess at the front door, hand stretched out as if your will alone would stop me. I saw you like that once, and I vowed that I would never let it happen again, and yet I broke it. As I write this letter, amidst all the destruction and utter chaos that surrounds me, know that I love you and always will, even if you don't feel the same anymore. I want you to know that I love you, and that I'll be home soon. Soon, I can have you back in my arms, and never let you go. Yes, I'm coming home, so wait for me. Even if I have to travel a thousand miles, I'll make it back to you, somehow.
