Rainy Day

Everybody hates a rainy day. But, Castiel was an exception. He seemed out of place standing in the pouring rain, looking up towards the Heavens. His trench coat had deepened in color with the wetness of the rain. People ran around him, trying to get out of the way of the downpour. The angel stood at the edge of the curb, his vessel's hair pressed flat against his head. Little water drops ran down the side of his face and neck, slowly wetting the collar of his suit.

This was all new to Castiel, because, up in heaven, it never rained. There was no need for it up in heaven as there was a need for it down on earth. There was no rivers that needed to be made, crops that needed to grow, everything in heaven was made to perfection. All the grasses, green. No need to grow food. Rivers didn't need any more water. So, it never rained in heaven.

This was purely a human experience.

Standing in the rain. He slowly pulled his eyes from the looming gray clouds, back to the now empty street. Castiel pulled his mind back down as well. Back to the task at hand, finding the recent seal Lilith was braking. He turned and walked back down the sidewalk, the puddles sputtering as the rain drops hit the pooling water. Castiel turned the corner and, with a flurry of wings, he was gone.

Everybody hates rainy days. But, secretly, Castiel loves them.
