"Why don't you just leave me alone?" Kenna said angrily as she started to take off her dress.

"Not until you tell me what's wrong, you crazy woman."

"Nothing is wrong."

"Obviously something is."

"Leave me alone, Bash!"

She started to walk away, but he grabbed her arms and turned her to face him. "Kenna, tell me what's wrong."

"Promise not to think it's silly?"

"I'll try."

She sighed and ran her hand through her long, chestnut hair. "It's you…it's you and Mary. I saw you two whispering and…touching in the corner at the ball."

Now Bash sighed. "Kenna…Mary is married and so am I."

"So?"

"Nothing is going on between us. Why don't you trust me?"

"I do, I just-"

"No you don't. If you did, you wouldn't be so jealous."

"I am not jealous!"

"I think you are," he started smirking.

"What is so funny?"

"That you don't get how much I love you."

"You what?"

"I love you, Kenna. Not Mary, not anyone else. Just you."

"I…I love you too, Bash."

Bash then pulled his wife closer, grabbed her face, and kissed her fiercely. She immediately kissed him back, but he pulled away.

"I love you, Kenna. I promise, I won't ever hurt you. I protect her from whom- and whatever threatens you."

"Thank you, Bash. I love you too."

They kissed again, and he slid his arms under her and picked her up. He carried her to their bed. He gently set her down and late her back and kissed her again. She smiled at him.

"Now let me show you how much I love you," he whispered in her ear as he slid off her dress.
