Another original Thomas story, this time it's "Percy's Boiler Trouble" with added lines by tate310. Enjoy and comment.
Percy enjoys working on the Island of Sodor. He wants to be really useful, just like the other engines, but sometimes, he is confused about the world around him.
One morning, after Percy finished the mail run, Sir Topham Hatt was waiting for him.
"Right on time!" said Sir Topham Hatt. "You are a really useful engine."
"Thank you sir!" replied Percy. He was feeling pleased with himself.
"I need you to take the coal run tonight for James, who is being refitted at the Works."
Percy was excited. He had never done the coal run before.
But that night, Percy was feeling ill. Sir Topham Hatt was worried.
"We need an engine to do the coal run." he said. "It's very important that the coal gets delivered on time."
"Could Edward do it?" asked Percy's driver.
"He could, but he's old and feeble, and we don't want him breaking down."
Then the driver and fireman came inside Percy's shed.
"We must get the coal delivered, even if you are sick."
Even though Percy was ill, he wanted to be really useful.
So his driver lit his fire, and Percy puffed away.
The journey was very long, and Percy felt weaker at each stop.
When they approached Gordon's hill, the driver stopped the train and inspected Percy.
"Look like's your boiler is busted." said the fireman. "We'll have to go to the works."
"But the coal must be delivered!" insisted Percy. "It's very important that the coal gets to each station."
The driver and fireman thought about what Percy said.
"It's going to be risky going up Gordon's hill with a busted boiler, but we must get the coal delivered.
So Percy set off once again.
Percy finished his journey early in the morning, and returned back to the sheds.
The next morning, Sir Topham Hatt came to see the engines.
"I am very pleased with you Percy for braving a busted boiler to deliver the coal. You have proven yourself that you can be very useful, even when you're ill.
Percy tooted his whistle, and so did the other engines.
"I am sending you to the Works so that your boiler can be fixed."
Percy just smiled.
