To be Lilly Kane

Dick once told me Lilly was one of those people you couldn't help but love. At first I was a little surprised Dick could say something that insightful, but he was right.

If I had done what she did, I would be called the worst names (as if I'm not already), yet Lilly is never called a 'slut'. 'Lilly had class', 'Lilly was fabulous'. I wonder if I'm the only one who remembers correctly. Lilly was the first to do everything of our group of friends, period, first kiss, lost of virginity, death. She slept around more than I did at the time. But she never got heat for it.

Logan, Weevil, Mr. Echolls and the numerous guys she met along the way in parties, vacations, parks, movies, even mass one time. She slept around and cheated, and were she anyone else she would be labeled a 'whore'. But she was Lilly Kane.

While I was not that close to her, I could tell she wasn't a good friend, a good girlfriend or a good sister. She worried about herself and was her favorite subject, yet she managed to charm everyone around her. I do admit Lilly could be a good friend/sister/girlfriend, when she wanted to, and when she was good she was great, but when she was bad...

Everybody avoids thinking about her that way though, they don't want to spoil the memories of her 'awesomeness' and I'm left being the only one who sees the truth. I see it eating Veronica Mars up slowly, breaking Duncan Kane apart, destroying Logan Echolls and even messing with Eli Navarro. The truth sets them free, Lilly slept with Aaron Echolls, they almost can't forgive her, but now it seems okay for them to move on, forget just a bit.

To be Lilly Kane and have all that power. The power to charm herself of any bad situation, mess up badly and be forgiven, make new students that never met her fall in love just by watching a memorial video. Everyone wishing she was still alive.

Something they will never do for me, not them at least. Something they wouldn't do for Don Lamb. These people, they don't forgive easily. It's a good thing I stopped caring.

Author Notes: This just came to me today. I'm not a fan of Madison, but she was the best person to see Lilly like that, comparing to herself. I love Lilly, but it is as Madison said it, she has this charm and you can never fully hate her.
