There was irony in the chaos surrounding her. Hanna's words, about her probably being next, rang through her head as she lied there, her head pounding, too weak to move.
Toby had been the one who had found her. She was lying there, trying not to fall victim to the darkness in her mind, for she'd once read something on not falling asleep if you had a head injury, or maybe that was hypothermia, she was too tired to remember. Blood was pooling by her head, making her laugh.
He ran over when he saw her, worried, calling out," Spencer!"He knelt by her, unknowing at what to do. All he could do was call ems, and then watch as they lifted her onto a stretcher and zoomed off to the hospital. It was the hardest thing he'd ever had to watch, and it was the hardest drive he'd ever had to endure as he drove to the hospital. But for her he'd do anything, see loved her more than life itself.
