Silver and gold, gems and jewels.

That was what Hiei thought of when he heard the kitsune's name.

Youko Kurama was many things, but he was not soft. He wasn't kind, he wasn't a friend.

Youko Kurama was a thief, a demon, a murder.

But there wasn't only bad things about him; he was smart and cunnings, a superb strategist and reliable. If he said he was going to do something, he did.

He was also one of the most handsome men Hiei had ever met, that he couldn't deny; silver hair dancing all the way down to his hips, the golden eyes scanning everyone and everything.

But when he just heard Kurama his thoughts were different.

Roses and grass, flower petals and silk.

Kurama was kind and understanding, and patient. He was a friend but a foe at the same time.

He was still cunning, smart and a strategist, but the difference between him as Kurama and not as Youko Kurama was that Kurama had a heart. He could feel the pain and sorrow others felt and tried to help them, whereas if he had been the man he once were he'd just left them.

Kurama was also soft. When Hiei looked at him he would always be reminded of a girl; it wasn't as if he was girly, but his skin looked softer than any silk.

His eyes looked like clean and fresh grass, and hair as red as a rose.

"Hiei" a voice said

The short demon turned his head back and saw a certain red-head walking towards him

"What are you thinking about?" he asked as he stopped beside the black haired demon

"Hn, nothing concerning you" he replied

The older one of them just smiled and turned his head towards the sea

AN: finally. I had the sudden urge to actually upload something. I like this pair, but as there are SOME PEOPLE out there that doesn't this one-shot don't necessarily have to be seen as a Kurama/Hiei. But those of you who like this pair are free to think of it as it was supposed to be.
