"Mom. Marcus." Clarke approaches them after she felt was a decent amount of privacy that two of them so desperately needed. Abby turns and gives an exhausted smile to her daughter.
"You did amazing baby."
"I need to tell you something." Clarke's eyes start to water. Which causes the heart tempos of the others to pick up speed.
"What is it honey?"
"I don't know if you know this since those chipped share memories and experiences and since Jasper was chipped and he knew…" She trails off.
"Clarke what is it?" Marcus prods gently. She takes a few breaths to gather up the courage.
"Sinclair. He didn't make it." By their expressions she knows they hadn't known. He staggers back his feet hitting the steps and falling back on to them. Abby drops to her knees next to him, her arm wrapped around his shoulder as he starts to cry.
"I should've had him come with me." He says between the sobs.
"No. I mean we needed him. All of this won't have happened without his help."
"How?" Abby asks without looking up.
"Emerson. Sinclair died protecting Raven. Protecting all of us." A few tears fall at the memory of it all.
"Emerson? What was he…." Marcus half questions to himself under his breath.
"It doesn't matter. Not anymore." They don't ask what she meant. They knew.
"When will it end?"
"I don't know Marcus."
"When will we stop burying our dead and grieving for our friends?"
"I don't know Marcus. I hope soon." He nods and gives a weak attempt at a smile.
"Always with the hope."
"It's important to have." Without saying anything else Clarke backs away from them to allow them to return to that needed privacy. Later she'd tell them what ALIE said and hope her mom had enough hope to still see the light. Knowing her mom she would.
