The Tales of Orendil

At a local gaming club, we recently started a new Advanced Dungeons and Dragons (Yes – Second Edition) campaign. I have already managed to whack up 6 pages of background information for the character, so I thought it might be kind of fun to chronicle the tales that we create during our adventures. Each chapter will contain another of Orendil's tales, some of them background stories, but most that we have played through in character.

I will treat my new Live Journal (johnwordsworth)
as a scratch book for the latest happenings and I will then form them into a neat chapter here when I think they have developed far enough. This index page will contain up to date basic character information, and I will update this page with information about the new chapters as I add them.

The campaign takes place in our own AD&D campaign world known as Carnil, but this world takes the form of a 'standard' AD&D world of the Mid-Fantasy variety. You may even spot some characters from some old modules that you recognise, as we have been known to use them in games of yore.

Character Introduction

Orendil Isilen originates from a small Sylvan Elf community located in isolated woodlands near the mountainous area of 'Just Valley'. Orendil stands tall for a Sylvan Elf and carries a truly awe-inspiring physique, able to bear-forth terrifying strength from his lithe and dexterous body. Many have told tale that he carries daemon blood within his veins, but none have found evidence to match their claims.

The attire Orendil wears rarely changes. His long, hooded cloak drapes across the rest of his ranger's garb covering all but the weathering bow that rests across his back. At its peak, a young, rugged face peers out from a wild mass of long, dark hair, adorned with blue paint in the form of wondrous tattoos. When in battle, the earthen-green cloak moves with surprising grace, yet in the coldest of winters, the cloak is all Orendil needs to wear for warmth.

Orendil currently brandishes a scythe more than 12 foot in length, the blade inscribed with runes of an unknown origin. His strength matches that of the horrific skeletal giant that carried it originally, and this was all that Orendil took as spoils from his latest combat...

Chapters of Orendil's Life

July 19th 2004 – None Yet. I will add the first chapter of Orendil's youth within a week or 2. I hope to update this page with a little more detail in the character introduction soon – when I have access to the sheets I've written.
