This is my very first fanfiction ever and I am really happy that I can share it with other people. Hope you all like it! :)
Shattered realities
Chapter 1- Discoveries
Orange and yellow light shines through the Judgment Hall, shadows of the columns stretch across the length of the floor. You're still not sure where that light comes from. You hear footsteps behind you. You turn, and are greeted with a familiar smile.
"Hey kid," Sans says "what are you doing here? Everyone's waiting up on the surface." You explain to Sans that you want to say goodbye to someone before you leave.
"Well OK. But be quick," Sans says "Paps has been talking to a squirrel for ten minutes now. We don't want people thinking that he's nuts.
You laugh at Sans' ridiculous pun as you begin your walk back through the Underground. You pass through the Core, an ominous machine that seems to power...something. You walk through Hotland, home to Alphys' lab and where Mettaton tried to kill you on several occasions. You stroll through Waterfall and wave to Napstablook as you pass him. You head through Snowdin and pass Papyrus and Sans' house, Grillbys, the shop and the inn. Finally, you reach the Ruins. You hesitate to open the door. But the memory of your friend fills you with determin-. You suddenly feel dizzy and blackout.
...
You wake up back in Waterfall. You sit up and scan your surroundings. You see one of your save points and walk over to it only to find that you can't interact with it. You start to panic. You suddenly realise that you don't know how long you've been unconscious and start to run back to Asgore's castle. You almost immediately find yourself going down a corridor you have never seen before and begin to slow, questioning whether you're going the right way. As you walk along, you spot a plain, grey door to your left. Curious, you walk to the door and turn the handle.
Surprisingly, it's not locked like you expected. You step inside of a plain, white hall that leads into a room that looks exactly the same. As you enter the room you notice a man, draped in black, just standing, motionless, in the middle of the room with his head down. You walk towards him, but he doesn't seem to even know you're here. You try talking to him, asking him where you are, but to no avail. You reach out to get his attention and his head suddenly jerks upwards. For a few seconds, you can see his face. He looks like a skeleton, like Sans or Papyrus, but he has two cracks in his skull, one that connects his left eye and his mouth, and the other seems to go from his right eye to the back of his skull. His mouth is in a broad smile like he is the happiest monster in the Underground, but his eyes seem to be lined with pain.
After a brief moment, the mystery man starts to fade before your very eyes. You stand there, shocked, at what just happened. You stand there for what seems like hours before letting yourself out, partly out of fear that the mystery man might return. You shut the door and try to calm yourself before walking back down the corridor. After you return to the room you woke up in you turn around to see the corridor gone and a figure walking towards you. You squint to see who it is until they walk into the light. It's the Riverperson.
