You're the little boy who made her dreams come true, and she's the lost little girl who needed saving.
But the problem is, she sort of fell in love with you, and it all goes downhill from there.
There are some days (more than she cares to remember) when she thinks that you're in love with her too, that you're more than just her best friend.
And then some days, she knows that you're not (in love with her that is), and those days.
Those are the ones that hurt the most.
Because she spends every single one of those days waiting for you to tell her that you love her (and that's what kills her every minute of the day – the truth, you don't).
She knows that she's waiting on a lost cause (every girl in love with a boy who doesn't love her back knows) but she's sort of not quite brave enough to break away.
Because darling, life takes courage, and she's been so afraid for so long now, that she hasn't really had the chance to live yet.
So what she needs to do, isn't put away all those childish dreams and mature into an adult.
No, she just needs to draw that kite with all her hopes flowing from it that little bit tighter, and grow into the person she's going to be.
And she needs to see, that you aren't the only boy she's ever going to love.
You're just one of the ones who didn't catch her when she slowed down enough to let you.
