E/O Challenge: To include a metaphor
Happy Christmas everybody – here's a festive drabble for you all (slightly longer than 100 words but I couldn't stop myself on this one! - please don't beat me up Bev!)
Twas a Supernatural night before Christmas
Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.
But Sammy and Dean knew that wasn't quite right
So they crept through that house, their shotguns held tight.

Then all of a sudden came an ear-splitting sound
That bounced off the walls and echoed around
So they ran down the hall and crashed through a door
And fired as an evil thing sprang from the floor.

Hell bent for Sammy it leapt for its prey
But Dean fast as lightning jumped in the way
Rescued his brother from a fate worse than death
Then maimed and bleeding fought to take breath.

Sam fired frantically till the creature lay dead
Then knelt by his brother and cradled his head
"I gotcha," he whispered, holding Dean tight
As they lay on the floor that cold Christmas night.
