Holiday Gift

SasuxSaku

The house was quiet. Quiet enough to hear the average mouse's paws, softly running around between the walls. It never used to be quiet until three years ago. My Family, murdered while I was away on a school trip... Now I'm stuck with lonely, silent Christmases.. I hated it.

I walked to the window, looking out I sighed. It was snowing. I sat down on the window sill and watched the snowflakes drift and dance with the calm breeze. I focussed on one flake as it fell slowly, landing on a head with bouncing pink hair.

-(Sakura?)

She was running towards my door, wearing a red skirt I've never seen and her white jacket she wore every other day. I jumped off the window sill and jogged to my door to greet her.

-Merry Christmas Sasuke!

She was jumping with excitement.

-Uh... Thanks Sakura..

Sakura smiled, her smile always made me feel happy and warm for a reason I never understood.

-Sakura.. What are you doing here? Shouldn't you be at home, celebrating the holidays with your family?..

-Well... Yeah, but I thought of you and how you're alone... I didn't want you to be alone this year Sasuke. I asked Naruto to come too, but he couldn't turn down Iruka treating him with ramen.

-Hn, typical Naruto.

She giggled. I wanted to invite her in, but my house wasn't decorated for the holidays like every other house in Konoha. I felt shame wash over me.

-Um.. How 'bout we go for a walk, just you and me?

-Really? You mean it?

-Yep, let's go.

I said grabbing my coat off the wooden rack beside me.

She skipped cheerfully, as I fell behind a few feet. Her hair bounced, causing snowflakes to tumble off her hair. She slowed her pace and turned around to face me.

-Where are we going?

-Um..

I hesitated, lost in Thought.

-Oh I know! How about we go over the bridge. You can see the whole village from there!

I nodded, as she smiled back at me. That feeling came back, tingling me from my head to my toes.

As we got closer to the bridge, I noticed how slippery it was getting. But I was too distracted by the Village's glow from the lights on the villager's homes to warn Sakura. The light's reflection on the fresh snow, brightened the glowing effect. Sakura's Voice, caused the beautiful scene of the Village to drop, forcing me to turn to her.

-Oh! I almost forgot. I got you something.

She started to walk towards me, but slipped. Causing the object to fly from her hands into the snow. Sakura in my arms as I caught her. I slipped as well from catching her fall. (stupid ice) I thought to myself.

-Um.. Thanks Sasuke.

She was blushing. I could feel the warmth from her cheeks, from her hidden face on my arm.

-Hn.

She got up slowly, starting to search for the fallen object. When I got to my feet, she was already walking towards me with something in her hands.

-Merry Christmas!

She said, opening her hands to present her gift to me.

I stared for a long moment at the charmed necklace. It was handmade and painted from her hads as well. It was the Uchiha Clan's family crest. Memories flowed through my mind making my heart feel warm and not so alone.

I looked up from the gift, to see her smiling face. I grabbed her and pulled her into a hug. After a few moments, I pulled away still not letting her go. I stared into her soft, caring eyes. My face inching towards hers. She let out a gasp but it was muffled when my lips met hers. When I pulled away. Words escaped my mouth.

-Merry Christmas Sakura.

She smiled, her cheeks were red and she gently pressed her lips to mine.
