The Missing Girl
Prolouge
My name is Morrigan. Rebecca Morrigan, to be exact. I was thirteen years old when I was murdered. The date was September 19, 1995.
My body was never found.
I lived in the sunny Jump City, California. I remember my little sister, Susan, and I would always visit a little island just outside the bay. It was our secret island...
Two girls ran across the mossy island, laughing and playing as they slid on the slippery rocks.
"Hurry up, Rebecca!" called out a girl with green eyes and long, blond hair put up in pigtails.
"Coming!" replied the other girl, a teen with identical green eyes. Her short blond hair whipped around her face as she hopped to her younger sister. The two lay back on the ground, looking up at the sunny sky.
"This is our island, right 'Becca?" the younger girl asked. Her sister turned to her.
"Of course, Susan!" Rebecca replied. The two chuckled. Susan sat up.
"We should be going," she said. Rebecca sighed.
"You're right." Susan and Rebecca got up, and began to walk. Out of the corner of her eye, Rebecca saw a shadow, behind a large rock. She turned quickly. It was gone.
"What is it sister?" asked Susan worriedly. Rebecca was still staring at the place she thought she saw the shadow.
"Susan. You go on home. I'm going to stay a little later, okay?" Rebecca said.
Susan looked confused. "Alright... See you at home." Susan took off across a mossy stone bridge, leading back to the city.
As soon as she made sure her sister was gone, Rebecca walked catiously over to the shadow's sighting. Peering over a large rock, she didn't noticing a large pair of hands grab her until it was too late.
Raven shot up from her bed in a shock. She looked around, seeing the familiar gothic decor of her room. She looked at the clock. 5:30am. The sun hadn't even risen.
"What... was that..." Raven said aloud to herself. Standing up, she walked over to her window peering out.
Nothing but the dark, cloudy sky. She could see buildings far off. Her city. Jump City.
"Maybe some tea will calm me down..." Raven walked out of her room, and down the long, dark hallway. Pouring herself a cup of tea, she sat at the counter her back to the door.
"What a strange dream," Raven thought.
"Raven." She jumped, her tea crashing down to the ground. It was Robin.
"Sorry to scare you, I didn't know you would be up so early. Anything wrong?" Robin asked.
"Nothing." Raven's infamous black magic gently picked up the tea behind her.
"You seem kind of jumpy," he said.
"Was there ever a bridge connecting this island to the city?" asked Raven. Robin raised his eyebrows.
"Yeah, there was. Why?" he replied, as Raven's eyes got wide.
"I have to go," Raven said, as she ran back to her room.
"I know now," Raven said, "Someone's trying to contact me. Is it that Rebecca girl from my dream?" She grabbed a bowls and candles, setting them in a circle on the floor.
"Well, I'm about to find out," she said.
Did you like it. Don't worry, this is going to be the shortest chapter. Scouts honor!
