"A Pendant On Your Grave"
I was irritated by the fates Nadia suffers in "The Fist of Mars," so I
decided to write a poem as an homage to the fact that I can never quite get
that special ending...
Snarl. Oh well.
Tell me what you think.

Dearest Nadia, a pendant on your grave
I left it there that summer's day
Nadia Candido now here lies
It's been months, and how time flies!
Doubting intentions was Nadia's game
She went with suspicion and wasn't ashamed
-
'Live life to the fullest' is what they said
But you can't live free after you're dead
Her frame was destroyed, the safety removed
Bolozof and his mistress reduced to mere tools
How many men would take her fair life?
A short one of hopelessness, pain, and unending strife
-
Through Acemos, and BAHRAM, after the UNSF
Their calls to come clean fell on ears deaf
'Fight for what you keep' was her only defense
Backed with a harsh stare from eyes so intense
Gone through flames once, but never again
You had one thing in mind: the cost of your sin
-
You never knew what would be best
You had the chance to hold life by the hand
But Nadia first rests in death
Or the cruel arms of a loveless madman
I was irritated by the fates Nadia suffers in "The Fist of Mars," so I
decided to write a poem as an homage to the fact that I can never quite get
that special ending...
