As I'm sure you've read in the summary, this is just a one-shot between Luna and Neville, and nothing too exciting. I just thought it was a nice bit of fluff. Hogwarts fluff, mind, since this is clearly during the war. I hope you enjoy it!

Disclaimer: I own neither Luna or Neville, or Hogwarts or Harry Potter, or anything else related to J. K. Rowling's fascinating novels. It stinks, but it's the truth.

In the stillness of the early morning hours, a girl walked through the hallways, quiet and undetected by anyone. She didn't appear hurried, nor did she display any signs of fear. She only walked through the halls with vague purpose. Her blonde hair was pulled back into a loose and wild pony tail, curls falling all over her back in the most haphazard manner and falling completely down to her lower back. While the girl would never be defined as a traditional beauty, she had something much more valuable. Ethereal and pixie life, she didn't seem to exist in this world sometimes, but rather a divination from the world ahead of ours. An angel who's very presence could define a life or change the course of history.

Luna Lovegood was uncharacteristically silent in her traipse from one side of the school to the other. En route to a secret rendezvous, she felt it would be best for her to go undiscovered. She didn't want to disturb anyone who might be trying to achieve the very last minute of their dreams.

"Neville?" Luna called quietly. "Neville, are you there?"

"Here Luna." He responded.

She walked around a pillar and then found Neville, standing alone on the bridge to Hogwarts. She came up next to him and stared out in the distance. Looking through the arches to the place his eyes had been resting, even though they were now occupied with looking at her.

"What is it you wanted to show me, Neville?" She asked gently.

"What? Oh… nothing… nothing really. I just thought you might find this… I thought it'd be interesting." He blushed, and Luna could tell he was trying very hard not to stammer.

"Just tell me where to look. If you find it interesting, I'll know it exactly when I see it." She was quiet as she peered onto the barely lighted horizon. "It will be the most exciting thing out there."

"That's just the thing. It isn't out yet." Neville rubbed his neck, nervous to say the least. "But if you'll focus on those pine trees over there, you might see it in a minute."

"Are there Wibbles on those trees?" She asked seriously, her eyes wide. "I've read so much about Wibbles."

Neville blanked, confused. "Um, no. Just a little bit longer now."

Luna nodded her understanding and continued looking out at the horizon.

At that point, Neville thought of doing something rash. Maybe if he was less cautious all the time and a little bit wilder, he would have more gumption. He thought of Luna and her bravery and well she was liked. Perhaps if Neville could do one, really brave and extraordinary thing, the rest of it would come naturally. He could be as popular and as exciting as Harry Potter if he tried!

So, with this thought in mind and the extreme will in his heart, he decided to do the bravest, brashest, and most exhilarating thing he could think of.

He took Luna's hand.

And as soon as he did this, the top of the sun shone over the pine trees, sending ribbons of light onto their faces and creating luscious patterns through the trees.

"Oh Neville, you are right. This is just lovely." Luna breathed excitedly. She squeezed his hand. "It almost makes you forget there's a war on when everything can be so exciting. Don't you think?"

"Yeah…" Neville gulped. Who could think about the war when he had just done the most exciting thing of his whole existence?
