This is my second fan fiction and is a one-shot and quite short. It's about what happens one year after the end of the book.
I don't own Warm Bodies.
ONE YEAR LATER
"Julie, can you get the CD on the top shelf of the bookcase over there? I don't think I've heard it yet." I walk around what is now Julie's and my house. It's right outside the Stadium so we can get there to work or safety if the Boneys come by. The house is sturdy and still has useable furniture in it. Julie and I moved into it to get away from the crowded Stadium. Julie is now a teacher for how Dead become Living again. I'm a writer.A little silly considering that Perry wanted to be a writer. I guess I still have some of him in me.
"R, there are five CD's up here. Which one are you talking about?"
"The one with the sunset and horses running." Julie comes over to my side with the CD in hand. I look at her. She's so beautiful with her hair now long down her back, and scares faded. It's been over a year since that fateful day when I found her, but it still feels like the first time I saw her whenever I look at her.
"R? You're staring off into space again. Even after a year of no longer being a zombie, you still just randomly stare off into space. What are you thinking of this time?"
"The first time I saw you." I looked away. I know how hard that day is for her.
"Oh... why are you thinking of that day?"
"I was thinking about every time I see you, it's like the first time." I feel a blush paid my cheeks.
"That you would eat me? I thought you didn't roll that way anymore." Julie laughs at her joke, and I join in.
"I was thinking of how I fell in love with you when I first saw you." I say after our giggles die down.
"Oh R, you really are a romantic at heart, aren't you?" Julie smiles and kisses me.
We found the cure to zombies, but better yet, we found each other.
