In search of the Golden Road
(Russian Accent) I remember when I was in Russia, I was well off of course but I wanted more. I decided to use the money I had to come to America in search of something else. I purchased a ticket on the "Saxonia" which left from Ireland. Getting there was a real pain. After I made it to the docks which had the ship I boarded the ship and waited to live.
It smelled terrible, the worst thing I've ever smelled. Sick people everywhere, not only that but the food was terrible. We began to sail and I felt like I was going to vomit, I don't like ships. The person next to me took quick notice of this and switched positions with his wife. I eventually began to grow sick with most of the other passengers, Oh joy.
As our ship approached the dock I was able to see a large green lady standing on the coast, and when I say big I mean big. I leaned over to the lady next to me and whispered into her ear "hey, do you think the tall green chick will go out with me." (British Accent)She responded "which one." (Russian Accent)After we landed on Ellis Island I gazed astonished at this city tallest building I have ever seen. The people here must be tall, I thought to myself. I just hoped they weren't all 151 feet tall.
As soon as I entered the building I was relieved, the police were not tall as I assumed. They handed me some papers after the long wait in line, just basic questions Religion: Jewish, Country of origin: Russia, Minsk. I was then taken to a doctor who proceeded to see if I was sick, I was stunned when I was told I was healthy. I was then lead to a room full of cots I was told mine would be #43. I stayed a few more nights until I was allowed to leave
I was heading towards Pittsburgh because I heard they were very tolerant with a large amount of jobs. Having no car at all I decided it would be best to simply hitch rides. It wasn't that far after all. After making it I decided to become a display designer. It seems so easy a caveman could do it (Geico 15 minutes or less could save you 15% or more on car insurance.) That is my story and I hope to live a long happy life here in America.
I eventually got married to a Miss Edith D'Amico; she was an immigrant from Italy. I discovered strange alien like creatures that spit out acid, they were called hippies. Actually that whole decade was interesting we had a Reverend Martin Luther King, We landed on the moon. In the 70's we had President Nixon. After Watergate I had to hear his resignation speech, (Nixon Accent)"In all the decisions I have made in my public life, I have always tried to do what was best for the Nation. Throughout the long and difficult period of Watergate, I have felt it was my duty to persevere, to make every possible effort to complete the term of office to which you elected me".
I could go more into it but… nothing interesting truly happened after that.
