The song lyrics belong to the song 'Running wild' by Jules Larson
One day we're gonna look back on this and laugh, baby
One day we're gonna say we grew up too fast, baby
It's alrigth, it's ok if I've been acting crazy
I just thought you should know that only you amaze me
Cause I am running, I am running, I am running wild
I am running, I am running, I am running wild over you
"Katie?!"
"Yeah?"
"Honey, why don't you come down? Rick is here."
"No. You just can send him up Mommy."
"Well Rick, you heard her. You can go upstairs."
"Thank you Mrs. Beckett." Rick replies while sprinting up the stairs.
"I told you to call me Johanna!" but he was already half way through the door to Kate's room.
Kate Beckett was sitting on the board of her window and reading book.
Some might say that she was reading awfully much for her age of six, but it's one of the reasons why Rick appreciates her so much as a friend. She understands him. Understands more than the obvious meanings of the words.
Sometimes he just watches while she reads.
Okay he never watches her for very long because she can't stand staring him at her, but even if he receives the death glare from her afterwards, it is always worth it.
"Stop staring Rickie." Damn it. Busted. Again.
"I'm not staring" he tries to declare.
"Yes you are. You always do."
"True." he says grinning cheekily at her.
In turn he receives an eye roll and a small grin.
She closes her book and stands up from the board.
Crossing the room she reaches Rick and throws her arms around his small torso while laying her cheek against his chest.
Surprised, he wraps his arms around her shoulders.
"Katie are you okay?" he whispers in her hair.
"No. Mommy told me at lunch that you and your mom are going to the Hamptons for the whole summer. That means we won't spend any time together. But you promised. You promised that you would be there for me when crazy auntie Helen comes." she whines.
But her small body is soon trembling by the bursting laughter from Rick.
She raises her head and stares right into his icy blue eyes.
"What's so funny, huh?"
He holds her on arms length and turns her around so that she is watching themselves in her mirror.
"You." he simply states and grins at her through the mirror.
Kate frees herself from his hands and turns around with her death glare on her face.
"I'm serious Rickie! You know just how crazy she is! You met her last Christmas!"
Well she was kind of right. Her aunt really is crazy. You can even say mad. She stayed just for four days but Rick and Kate danced caused by happiness when she was gone because no one of them could stand just one more peck from her more than red lips.
"You'll be fine. Really."
"No I won't. You know that."
"I promise you'll be fine." he says while staring right into her hazel green eyes.
"I can say that because you'll be coming with me and my mom to the Hamptons while your aunt is here. And when she's gone, your parents will come to the Hamptons too, so that we can spend the whole summer together on the beach." Rick announces triumphantly with a big grin on his face.
"Really?! Are you serious?! That'll going to be so much fun!"
She runs straight into his arms again and he can tell that it's going to be a hell of a summer.
Authors note: Thank you very much for reading. I always appreciate reviews. I hope I'm gonna continue this story soon.
