Prayers

Inu-Yasha walked sulkily along as he walked to where all of his despairs started. His home town. The others noticed his depression too, for now even they were depressed.

Inu-Yasha, what's wrong?Kagome thought.

As they walked into town,Shippo and Kirara automatically became woozy.

What's going on with them?Kagome wondered.Oh!Kagome gasped. There's an incredibly strong holy aura around this town!…Inu-Yasha,aren't you affected too?

As if in response to Kagome's thoughts, Inu-Yasha started to stagger back and forth.

I…must…keep…walking…Inu-Yasha thought, very sleepily. As he walked, he knew all eyes were on him. Stare if they want, I won't show any weakness. Not like back then. Inu-Yasha glared back at the townsfolk. "You guys find us a place to…never mind. There's a secret house hidden in the woods. Go there. I'll be there as soon as I can."Inu-Yasha stated.

"No." Kagome responded. "Where are you going? Why can't we follow?"

Inu-Yasha lashed back at her." It's my personal business." Inu-Yasha started running. To his mother's grave.

--

Inu-Yasha arrived. He looked down, then sat on his knees. He put up his hands in prayer, his head resting on his thumbs. Then he began to chant.

"Oh Heaven above,

And Hell below,

Let my mother come forth form where she resides,

And let her

Speak to me,

Listen to me,

Hear my words,

And most importantly,

Let her love me,

Like a mother should."

He stopped chanting. Then he started to tell of his adventures to his mother, not leaving out any detail.

--

Whoa! Miroku thought. He's praying to his mother? Unsurprisingly, he, Kagome, Shippo, and Sango were, in fact, eavesdropping. Also unsurprisingly, Kagome was very interested in what Inu-Yasha was doing. I wish Sango was that interested in me.

--

Inu-Yasha could tell they were watching him, so he called out "Hey guys! Come meet my mom!" Startled, they walked over to the grave. There was a certain softness to Inu-Yasha's eyes." Mother…?These are my friends. The ones I was telling you about? These are my first friends, besides you of course! But…I just hope that you can see me. See how I've grown. Good-Bye Mom." Inu-Yasha said as he walked away.

"INU-YASHA!" Kagome shouted." COME BACK HERE AND SAY GOOD-BYE PROPERLY!!"

"Let him go, Kagome." Miroku said. "He's just a poor soul that lost his mother. He needs to be alone. He needs to do some thinking alone."

Kagome followed anyway. When she met up with him, she said "Inu-Yasha…?"

"What do you want?" Inu-Yasha said in the saddest voice she had ever heard.

"I…I just wanted to see you."

"Really?"

"Really."

"Thanks."

I'm gonna leave it at that.
