Seriously, why did he even bother? Every time he fell in love, the girls liked the same guy. Ren Ichinose, his best friend. But sadly, even though he got over Ninako, since she actually got Ren, he couldn't seem to forget his first love.

It was a rainy day in school. Drops of water fell onto his umbrella when he saw her. The first girl who had ever broken his heart. His first love.

"Andou!" a group of girls ran up to him. "Who are you looking at?" they saw where his gaze was directed. "You like her?! That Mao girl?" at the sound of her name, Mao turned around. She threw death glares at the girls that even scared Andou himself, the guy who dated the girl for about half a year.

The next day it rained again. Maybe spring showers? He didn't know.

"Takumi." Only one person called him that. He turned around and saw none other than Mao. "What?" he replied, his voice flat.

"A friend of mine…" she began. "wanted me to give you this." She handed him a letter, blush forming on her cheeks. He knew that face. That was her lying face when she talked about the guy she liked.

"HAHAHAHAHA!" he laughed aloud while tears formed in his eyes. His chest hurt. He felt stupid for laughing at Mao, who looked shocked.

When he finally stopped, her bottom lip quivered. "If you didn't want it, you could have just said so." She said in a shaky voice. She attempted to yank the letter out of his hands, but it wouldn't budge. "Give it to me!" she pulled at it. He still wouldn't let go.

"Gosh, Andou! If you don't like me then just give it back!" realizing what she had implied, she covered her mouth, one hand still holding the letter. With one hard yank, he pulled her close to him.

"I like you Mao. No, I don't like you. It's more like love. Yeah. I love you Mao!" he leaned in and kissed her. It wasn't soft, but it wasn't demanding either. It was like a kiss that said "you-got-away-once-but-you-won't-get-away-again" Yeah. That was how it was.

Both of them knew that they couldn't' completely put their trust in each other instantly, but they didn't care. The road would be long and bumpy. But they got through it once, even if they did falter. They knew what was in store for them this time. They just had to get through it.
