Prisoner
A tormented prisoner stands isolated in his cell,
enclosed by stone walls,
with frigid bars,
bound in place by callous chains.
Surrounded by Darkness,
He is blind to it all.
The solitary captives cry out at first,
But soon fall into silence.
Scents of blood and decay
Walk into the cell with the wind,
Stopping to tease the man
Before moving on to its next victim.
The prisoner slips in the mud,
And lies in the cold earth,
Which quickly dulls his aches and pains.
He feels his senses dimming,
Darkness encloses him completely,
As he slips into eternal bliss.
