This was one of those random stories that pop into your head and you must write it down and it only takes you about ten minutes to write...yeah, one of those.

I'm a huge CloudxAeris fan, but I have to admit, ZackxAeris is adorable, and not to mention rather sad. So, here's a little random oneshot.

Disclaimer:I'm not Square-Enix and I do not own any of these character.

Maybe I'm just not right for him...he deserves much better, anyways. He's a SOLDIER...there are many other girls who would die to be with him...

Aeris attended to the flowers in her derelict church, the bright, yellow or white petals smiling cheerfully at her, as if they sensed their carer's saddness. Aeris smiled back at her flowers; they were her only sanctuary, this and this church. No one bothered to come here anymore; it seemed that the people of Midgar had long forgotten about their faith, and no longer bothered to find it.

Here, Aeris was safe. Safe to think, to ponder, and to wonder what had happened to him. One day, he had sworn his love to her, promised that they would be together forever, and maybe, just maybe, they'd begin those plans of being together forever after this next mission.

He never came back though. Aeris had thought about the possibility of something happening to him, but she couldn't muster it.

He was a SOLDIER. He was more than ordinary. He would never let anybody touch him, or hurt him.

Maybe he found another girl in that small town. Yes, that's it. Maybe another girl, maybe smarter, maybe prettier. Probably far better than anybody I'll ever be. She'd probably need him more than me, anyways. He'll probably show her the world that she's never seen from her town.

Aeris let out a sigh. No matter what had happened to him, she missed him. A lot. She missed their moments in here, watching her flowers grow, helping one another through their difficult times, especially in this era, where people grew more and more untrustworthy everyday.

She missed him, but she had to move on. She'd meet him again one day. Whatever his cause was for leaving, she was sure she'd forgive him. She cared for him that much, and believed that whatever the reason for his disappearance is, it was for a good cause.

He'd want her to be happy. Aeris smiled. She decided she would be happy. Who knows, maybe somebody will appear to her, out of the blue. He'd remind her of him, but he would never replace him. He'd bing her happiness once more. Aeris reached out and touched a flower's petals. She couldn't wait to meet him--

Aeris looked up, hearing a deafening crash echo from the church's high ceiling. To her horror, she watched as something-- no, someone!, crashed through the derelict roof and fall towards the ground. Aeris moved out of the way in time to see a young man land in her bed of flowers. Her eyes wide with amazement, she moved near him. He was knocked out-- Who wouldn't be, after that fall?, but he was unmistakably alive.

She walked slowly towards him, and bent over him. Spiky hair, just like Zack. Blonde hair though, very unlike Zack. She smiled.

"Are you okay...?"
