It was the Jeffersonian New Year's party; the place was filled with people that worked there, and their families.

Brennan was sitting talking to Angela about how she and Hodgins were going to set up the nursery for their baby. Brennan happened to look across the room and stop her partner Seeley Booth. She realized she loved him and wanted nothing more than for Hannah to go leave him, or better yet for him to leave Hannah.

Angela noticed the look on Brennan's face and fallowed where she was looking and noticed she was looking right at Booth. Brennan had zoned out, she hadn't heard a word of what Angela had been saying since she spotted Booth.

"Sweetie, what's going on?" Angela asked her best friend. "Why are you staring at Booth like that?" Brennan snapped out of her trance and looked over at her friend.

"What?" She asked not realizing that Angela had noticed how she was looking at Booth.

"What was with the look you were giving Booth?" Angela asked her friend with great concern. Brennan gave her a confused look, but then realized what she was talking about.

"Oh, it's nothing" she lied quickly. Her friend gave her a smirk knowing the truth.
"Really?" Angela asked knowingly. Brennan gave Angela her "Don't worry your pretty little head about it" look.

"I've noticed lately whenever I look at Booth I get this feeling in my stomach, it's almost as if it is 'flipping' I think is the term. My heart rate increases and I just want to kiss him" She blurted out. Angela couldn't help but laugh, her friend had just confessed to her that she was in love with Booth. She wasn't sure if she realized what she had done or not.

"Sweetie, I do believe that is what normal people call being in love" Angela told her with a smile. Brennan looked at her for a moment knowing she was right. Without another word Brennan stood and walked toward Booth.

He looked over at her and smiled, he figured she was just coming over to say Hi and what not. But what she did next caught him off guard. She grabbed him by the shirt and pulled him into a kiss, he unknowingly deepened the kiss. She ended the kiss almost instantly when he did that.

"That is what you would get every day if you picked me" She said and walked away from him. He stood there stunned; he had been standing there talking to Hodgins when she did that.

"Dude, did she just do that?" Hodgins asked with a laugh. Hodgins thought Angela put her up to it or something.

"Yeah, I know why too" Booth said walking away to go find Brennan.
==============================================================================

"Bones?" Booth called entering the Anthropology department where she worked; knowing if she was still at the Jeffersonian this was the place she would be at.

"I can't lie to myself anymore, Booth" He heard her say from behind him. He turned to see her standing there a few feet from him.

"Temperance…" He only used her given name once or twice before, each time he was being serious about the situation.

"If you want to continue lying to yourself I'm happy to let you, but I don't wish to anymore. I hate the fact that you're with Hannah and not me." She said moving in on him. He took a deep breath and stood his ground.

"Hannah left days ago, said she got an offer she couldn't turn down…" He informed Brennan. "She wanted me to go with her, leave my job behind, leave you behind… she wanted me to leave my whole life behind for her. Bones I told her no" he added quickly making her stop for a moment to process what he had just told her.

"That's why she wasn't here tonight?" she asked softly. He nodded his head in reply.

"I couldn't leave everything I worked so hard for behind." He said moving in on her slowly. "And your very right, I was stupid to have been with her when you were the one I was meant to be with all along." He added before kissing her gently on the lips.

THE END!
