Hello again!

This is my second Horo x Ren fanfic :O It's been a while since I've written anything haha. I may or may not make this into a series of oneshots. It's something I've been wanting to do for a while, but I don't know if I'll have enough time to update often.

For the time being, enjoy! :3

I think Tao Ren is misunderstood.

In Japanese, his name means "tough." And he is – at least, only on the outside. He always gives off this "I don't give a fuck what you think" sort of attitude. If you tried to start a conversation with him, he would most likely reply with one-word answers that make it seem like he's impossible to talk to. Either that or he'll be threatening to kill you with his kwan dao. I'll admit it – I didn't like him at first either. In fact, I don't think-

"Mmmmph…"

He's shifting a little bit before snuggling deeper into the crook of my neck. I love the way he unknowingly does that in his sleep. It's quite cute, actually. I can't help but smile and bury my nose into his hair. It always smells good, like a fresh floral kind of scent laced with musk. It's kind of weird, really, because you wouldn't really expect him to smell like that. His moans are quite sexy, too.

…Sorry, what was I saying?

Right. I honestly don't think anyone would like him at first. It sort of pains me to say that, but it's true. He may as well be the most aggressive, blunt, and stubborn brat you've ever met in your whole life.

However, if you look past his cold exterior, he is exactly what his Chinese name means – "lotus." It's supposedly a girl's name, but hey, he is sort of womanly in a physical way. Like his tiny waist, and especially his hips. And I'm the one who wears the pants in this relationship. I would know. He'd kill me if he found out that I told anyone though, so shush. But whenever we're alone, he allows his more… gentle side to glide through. He's adorable. Even more adorable than Kororo, and Kororo is pretty damn hard to beat in terms of adorable-ness. Did you know that he likes snuggling? I didn't know either. But I like it this way. I like that I'm the only one who can see the true beauty behind a seemingly malevolent character.

"…'keu…" he mumbles, pulling himself closer to my body.

"'Morning, sweetie."

He opens his eyes very slightly and looks up, and lazily brushes his soft lips across my own.

He may seem tough on the outside, but he'll always be my delicate lotus no matter what.

END.

I hope this was okay! I haven't really written anything at all (with the exception of essays for school) for a while.

According to Wikipedia, "Ren's name in Japanese means "benevolent", "tough", and "edge of a knife", all of which are reflected in his character. His actual Chinese name, Lián, means "lotus" and is actually a girl's name." I did a bit of research on his name and the results were a bit fuzzy and seemed like the Chinese and Japanese meanings were used interchangeably in some cases. So yeah, this is just based off of Wikipedia's answer for the sake of this oneshot, even if it's not true xD'
