The Curse of the Young
Prologue
My arms are wrapped in cloth and placed in gloves. I cannot take the risk of touching it as it is for her and her only. It is twelve o clock at night, I silently sneak in through the front doors of the school library. It is dark and the only light is the moon's rays coming through the large paned windows. I head to the place where he was sitting earlier, the place where I stole her satchel of books. I reach my destination and I placed the satchel down on the chair.
Carefully I place it in with the other books disguising it of course as a book. She won't notice she has too many books. I look to it and smile. Suddenly, I hear a noise; the doors of the library slip open. I quickly cast an invisibility shield over myself. She enters whispering to him about how it went missing. He goes off in a different direction, while she heads towards me.
I quickly step back towards the wall, the shield still cast upon me. She reaches the chair as she looks lost and confused. I smile to myself knowing it is just moments away. She takes the satchel and scatters the books on the table. I try not to laugh in anticipation. She gets nearer the book, as she draws closer, and closer, and closer. Until she touches it.
She stands perfectly still, her eyes turning a deep shade of gothic black. With a roar of a scream she collapses to the ground and withers in pain as the curse travels through her blood system. I pick up the book quickly and run back to the wall while he rushes over; his wand drawn.
He looks to her and runs quickly shouting for help. I step over her body, the curse will take approximately three days to flow through her entire system, he told me that. I look to her one last time with a menacing smile and I walk out of the library knowing that the cure for this curse is simply right in front of them.
I make it to the doors, when they bang open and they rush through. I look to them, still invisible wishing all the hope that they got because it is so little. They will learn soon though, learn that she is under 'The Curse of the Young' and once it is finished with her, they won't be able to recognise her…
