This is a small part of my long prologue. It's my thing. You know, to have long prologues, so hold on!

Disclaimer: I also do not own Erik, but the rest of the characters are my own.

(Nellie, Meg, William)

Meg is not the same Meg Giry, but the name of my sister.

I probably will make some grammar mistakes, so please submit a review if I have.

Thank you!

Prologue Part 1: The First Trip

Meg followed Nellie through the tunnels below the Opera House, and wondered how long she'd been gone. Meg couldn't think straight, for she was too busy listening to the sad, yet hypnotic sound of the Phantom's violin.

By now, Nellie was rushing in front of Meg, who was far behind, moving very slow, and Meg could barely see. Nellie seemed so energetic, while Meg was like an elderly woman. But they were both 16, and should be far from tired.

Nellie had stopped moving, and began turning back. "Meg, hurry up! What's taking you so long?" Then she stopped and smirked. "Is it the violin?" Meg nodded. Nellie began giggling."Then you've got bad taste in music!" She began moving once more. "Well, if you want to get a good look at it, you'd best hurry!"

Nellie and Meg went in the tunnels, because of Nellie's curious little mind. Long before Meg started working at the Opera House, Nellie had been spying on the Phantom of the Opera. It was a wonder how she didn't get caught. Usually, when one went down below, they never returned back up. At least, not alive.

Meg tried to stop thinking about it, and followed, quickly, after Nellie. And after what seemed another hundred feet, they stopped. Meg tried catching her breath, but Nellie clapped her hand over Meg's mouth before she had a chance to take one measly breath. "Shh... We don't want it to hear us!" Meg clenched her hand into a slight fist. So what if Nellie didn't like the Phantom. Was there really a need to call him an it?

After Nellie removed her hand, Meg scowled at her half jokingly and and half serious. Nellie looked at me with a curious expression, and then asked in a raised whisper. "What?" Meg frowned, and then replied to her. "Stop calling him an it!" The Phantom's violin quited down, but didn't fully stop. Meg didn't mean to shout, but Nellie made her a bit angry. "Thank God he didn't hear you." Nellie whispered. "Don't do that again!"

Blushing, Meg apologized. "I'm sorry, Nellie, but please don't call him an 'it'." Nellie giggled again, "Oh, fine!" She looked around, while Meg spat out the dirt that had fallen from the top of the tunnel. The playing of the violin started loudly again, and Meg felt a sigh of relief. Nellie nudged Meg, and then said "It's just a little further, and then we can see him." Meg smiled.

"Took you long enough, eh?" Nellie rolled her eyes, and continued on. After about ten minutes, she beckoned to Meg, and Meg rushed over to Nellie's side. After climbing a small pile of stone, Nellie pulled Meg down. "Down there, look!" Nellie pointed her finger towards a hole in the ground. She let Meg look first. And she saw the Phantom! With her own two eyes, she actually saw the Phantom, in all his glory, playing away at the violin!

Meg excitedly whispered to Nellie. "He's no Phantom, he's a man!" Nellie shook her head. "True, he's no Phantom. But he's no man, either." Meg stared at Nellie. "Then what is he?"

She turned her head towards Meg and frowned. "He's a demon, that's what."
